Book Review #16 HAWAIIAN HEALING By Libby Cole

This book the second part to an earlier book review I did HAWAIIAN HEARTBREAK (book review number 10). It continues the story of Kayla and Jay – can their holiday fling be anything more than that?

Kayla came to Hawaii to heal her broken heart. Not to get it smashed all over again.
Jay took over her mind and body, consumed her, and then he was gone.
All she has left are the questions she can’t avoid any longer. Can she survive without him? What’s more important, love, or the life she’s built at home? And why does it suddenly seem like Jay’s hiding something?
The second book of three in the Hawaiian Heartbreak trilogy. This book is recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to explicit sexual content.

Following in the footsteps of the first book there are several detailed steamy scenes *blushes* that make this a definite 18+ book.

I am pleased that I got to see how Kayla and Jay’s romance played out. I was also thrilled to read about two adults that, even though they fought or hurt each other emotionally, they could actually talk it out and be honest with each other as grown ups should be able to. Maybe I’ve read too many YA books, but it was good to see two characters making assumptions but not being too proud to be corrected and admit they were wrong.

As a result, Libby Cole has written a book that isn’t your normal romance with loads of over-the-top drama but rather a realistic amount which I found refreshing.

So, without giving too much away,  I look forward to the next in the trilogy to see what happens. If the relationship can survive this next event or not.

I give this a 2 star, which seems a bit harsh, but it’s only because it’s so short at 66 pages. As I said before, I like the dynamics of their relationship and want to read more.
