I am a 35-year-old mother of two. I work as a teacher for 2 days a week and 1 day in school as a forest skills practitioner and counsellor. I enjoy reading, photography and what we like to call ‘mini adventures’ – just enjoying the simple things in life.

My latest adventure is writing a YA fantasy novel that I am currently editing and getting ready to query with agents.

I write in YA, too. My current WIP is a contemporary, summer camp adventure. Best of luck with your fantasy!

How’s your WIP going? I’m editing again… It’ll be worth it though. Are you submitting to sun vs snow or Pitch to Publication in Feb and March?

Hello there! My name is Aya, and I am a fellow book blogger/lover at ablessedbrownie.wordpress.com. I was wondering if you’d be interested in participating in a small project that I am doing. I wanted to ask a bunch of bloggers (49, to be exact :p), to give me one of their favorite book quotes. I’m going to compile them all in one post and then post it on my blog on the 22nd of this month. It’d be fantastic if you were to be a part of this. Just let me know by this Sunday, please, so that I have plenty of time to compile and/or ask someone else. Thank you!
P.S. You are the 33rd one to be asked!

Ooh! That sounds like fun. Yes, I’d be up for that. Thanks for asking.

I love when Dumbledore says (in the Prisoner of Azkaban)
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
